The Northwest Indiana Auto Trade Association (NIATA) was organized in the 1950s mainly as a club for the owners of new car dealerships in the area. They would get together at social events and have golf outings and other activities. In the mid ‘90s the association reorganized, and with new members involved, they came up with a new logo and a new plan.
